And yes it was unfortunate that you were booked during a time that a large group had booked the rest of the area out and we sympathise with you on that front. You may have noticed all others are well distanced from each other and private. We try to book Tipi numbers 1 & 2 together for a family or friends as they are quite close. well most people booking a bush camp experience are ok with these things. We have put outdoor chairs outside each tipi now so thanks for making that suggestion. The poured earth floors which are in most Tipis will be replaced will be replaced with wooden platforms for next season which will help in many ways. Your feedback has prompted us to have another look at the presentation of our Tipis. Thank you for your review and I am sorry that you had a bad experience in one of our Tipis. Also please put the cafe open times in the room info folder!Īnd lastly, this site is not accessible to the less able bodied, even the fabulous cafe was not wheelchair friendly, which was a real shame because this kind of alternate lifestyle should be accessible to all varieties of humans and I'm sure the owners would want all to experience it.ĭont let my caveats put you off staying though, we really did have a good time and it's a unique and fun experience! While everything was spotlessly clean, there were many small items of general maintenance all over the site which needed attending to and this again, was sadly unexpected at the price point.

They weren't life threatening, but were inconvenient and springing for an emergency plumber would have been great service. we had some plumbing issues which were not promptly corrected. although staff were lovely, they weren't always so helpful. However I do have some caveats unfortunately, our trip was a little unexpected in the wrong ways too. The teenagers loved the caboose bunkhouse and we loved being a little isolated from the rest of the site in the ivy cottage overlooking the ocean (it has the best view of all the accommodation). Fortunately all accommodation comes with linen supplied which is fabulous! Just be prepared to carry all your things for a while if you stay in the teepee forest! It's a short walk down and up a hill with no luggage (we had fun exploring) but would feel a lot longer lugging one's food and clothing. We were delighted by the whimsy of the concept and the varieties of accommodations and the complimentary herbal tea selection was a lovely touch. We visited solscape for a group family long weekend and had a fun time! The location and views (particularly from the cafe) are breathtaking! The staff is friendly and our youngest was enchanted by the camp cat (who can open doors 😲).
